Police Expeditioner

Becoming a Police Expeditioner

The MPD has a long history of extending community partnership opportunities that support young people in and around Washington, DC.

In partnership with the Washington, DC Police Foundation, MPD is pleased to announce the launch of its Expeditioner Program for young adults, open to local sixth graders through 20-year-olds. In this program, you can experience what MPD officers do every day.

One day you may be recreating a crime scene. The next day, you may be practicing your investigative skills. Or you might be learning how to search for missing people in a neighborhood or assisting a disabled motorist. Through the MPD’s innovative and original Expeditioner curriculum, activities will be based on real life police experiences, training and assignments. Both the High School Expeditioners and Junior Expeditioners will complete two community service projects during the year (one in the winter and one in spring).
